Family and children are extremely important to me. These are values we’ve cherished and have held on to from generations before us. As your congressman, when it comes to family and children, these values will play a high priority towards my votes in congress.
My opponent, Walters, supported NO on four weeks of paid parental leave for federal employees (Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act; Bill H.R.626). Often, in order for our federal government to be able to recruit and retain a highly qualified workforce, we must be competitive with the private sector. Obviously, she doesn’t want our government to maintain the same level of quality in service that we all expect when we deal with the private sector. After all, this government was guaranteed to us by our forefathers. It is of the People, by the People, and for the People. Walters is not standing for WE the People.
Walters’ Voting/Support Record:

Varasteh’s Congressional Pledge:

- Standing up for WE the People
