Dana Rohrabacher claims to be the surfing congressman.  Yet if you know anything about global warming and sea level rise, and think about its impact on sports, surfing is the single highly vulnerable sport to global warming.  One meter of sea level rise will wipe out nearly every beach on earth, making surfing highly dangerous in most areas due to the lack of beaches.  Flooded ports are sure to be a much higher priority nearly everywhere over beaches, especially since the new beach areas will feature destroyed remains of houses and businesses, still owned by the former landowners, and the prognosis once the sea level starts to rise will, as a result of our failure to take action so far, be more of the same.

At an event at the HB Pier for Jim Brandt (5/13/06?), some kids on bikes were harassing us.  I talked to them about Dana's environmental policies and surfing.  They stopped bothering us, and I think one of them definitely seemed to have switched from Rep to Dem by the time I was done.
